LANE LEWIS WINS ENDORSEMENT OF THE
HARRIS COUNTY DEPUTIES' ORGANIZATION

May 20, 2015

Houston, TX – City Council At-Large 1 candidate, Lane Lewis, has received another key law enforcement endorsement from the Harris County Deputies' Organization.

Lane Lewis’s long history of advisement and collaboration with local law enforcement has won him another endorsement from the public safety sector. The Harris County Deputies' Organization (HCDO) is the latest law enforcement group to endorse Lewis, joining the Houston Police Officers’ Union. Having been appointed by three Houston Mayors to various citizen review boards and committees, Lewis has proven he can facilitate collaboration between communities and law enforcement.

“On behalf of the HCDO membership we proudly endorse Lane Lewis for Houston City Council at Large Position 1,” said HCDO head Bob Goerlitz. “Lane respects the work of law enforcement and works to bring community and law enforcement together to solve crime and safety issues.”

“I have the upmost respect for the men and women who serve and protect us,” stated Lewis.  “I believe our law enforcement agencies and the community benefit most from and open dialogue and the HCDO believe the same. I look forward to building bridges and bringing cops, community, and council together.”

Lane Lewis has served the community of Houston for over 20 years as a social worker, educator, office holder, and community leader. As City Council Member At-Large Position 1, Lane will work to fix our roads, make all neighborhoods safe, and continue Houston’s prosperity in all communities.
