Memorial Day
HONORING THOSE WHO SACRIFICE FOR US
Dear fellow Houstonians,
I hope you are able to enjoy this holiday weekend with family, friends, and loved ones; I hope you will join me in remembering the men and women that defend our Nation and those that have served or died honoring our freedom.
This is a national holiday, and we must remember local heroes who call Houston home, like my Dad, a Sergeant in the Korean War. We are all touched by the sacrifice made by our military and many of us have loved ones who have or currently serve.
Take the time to stop by Veteran's Memorial Park and visit the WWII Memorial Plaza at 1800 Tidwell, Houston, TX 77093.
On city council, I will propose to reinvigorate the Office of Veteran's Affairs, engaging the veterans that are returning to Houston and those who are already home.
Our soldiers are well trained and capable citizens that are tremendous assets to the city when given the opportunity. I believe our city should make it a point to do business with those that hire our skilled and qualified veterans. The greatest way to honor our veterans is to
make sure they have every opportunity to enjoy the freedoms and prosperity they fought to protect.
My thoughts and gratitude go out to all those who defend our country; have a safe and blessed Memorial Day.
Sincerely,
My thoughts and gratitude go out to all those who defend our country; have a safe and blessed Memorial Day.
Sincerely,
Lane Lewis
for Houston City Council At-Large Pos. 1
